To avoid any gap in this regard, it was agreed between Heevie, DOH Duhok and the health cluster that Heevie will run the clinics of four of these camps for the period of four months between April and August 2018.
The camps supported were Shariya, Mam Rash, Kabarto1 and Kabarto2 with a total population of around 52,000. The health service provision in both Shariya and Mam Rash camps was considered a continuation of Heevie already existing activities in both locations while the two camps and Kabarto1 and Kabarto2 were involved due to non-availability of the health service providers.
Heevie took this project as an opportunity to expand the activities and services provided within these centers especially regarding the laboratory, Ultrasound,health promotion and dental services, in addition to adding further medical specialties to respond better to the needs of the beneficiaries.
The project was implemented by the support of UNOCHA and WHO and during the project duration, (76,796) patients got benefit from the services provided in the four targeted locations as follows:
