6.Project: Improving access to comprehensive primary health care services through supporting Aski Mosul, Tal Musa and Hedhayma health facilities in Ninewa Governorate

After liberation of many areas in the northern Ninewa regions from the under ISIS control, the provision of primary care services was an issue of concern for the local authorities and for the humanitarian community as well, especially that these regions have shown a process of return for many of its displaced people, and at the same time it has provided a safe destination for the people escaping from crises and conflict-affected areas near to the region.
Heevie selected three of the main PHCCs in Zummar district to support within its plan for the year 2017 which was extended to 2018, which are Aski Mosul, Hedhayma and Tal Musa PHCCs. The project included expansion in the service provision to involve the full package of services in the 3 locations in addition to adding the required staff from doctors and medical staff to perform the required activities.
This project was implemented by the support of UNOCHA and provided the health care services for more than 30,000 populations in the targeted locations. In project period extended to the year 2018, around (4,245) patients got benefit from the services provided and as follows:
- The number of consultations in Aski Mosul (1,824)
- The number of consultations in Hedhayma (1,100)
- The number of consultations in Tal Musa (1,297)
