After a period of occupation wars, and after liberation of most of the villages and towns in Ninewa Governorate, the biggest challenge was to provide the basic life support services including primary health care services.
Heevie Organization have undertaken the role of provision of health services in large areas of Zummar and Rabia sub district within Talafar district, this was done through 14 static and two mobile clinics in different villages and towns.
The last project Heevie organization performed was provision of primary health care services in (Hedhayma) village located west to Mosul Dam and supporting the center with doctors, paramedics, medications and medical equipment and supplies. Selecting Hedhayma came for many reasons, mainly due to the lack of doctors serving in the PHCC, the presence of large numbers of displaced people in the village (about 3,000 people), the difficulty of access to health services in the cities due to security difficulties, and the presence of more than seven villages rely on this center in order to obtain to health services also Hedhayma is currently determined to be a screening site for the new IDPs after Musol liberation operations and also a location for emergency camp.
In this context, the Heevie succeeded in obtaining the support of UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs OCHA for its project to support Hedhayma PHCC, which began in 23/10/2016.
Heevie Organization is aiming to provide full package of services through its project, in this year the number of consultations is (9064) patients as shown below:
